The Mermaid with Cat and Rat islands in the distance are long-time symbols of the province of Songkhla.

Late afternoon at Songkhla Lake with its trawlers and fishing cradles makes for one of the most picturesque sites in the province.

The province of Songkhla is one of the oldest settlements in the South, as is evidenced by these typical old Chinese-style houses lining Nakorn Nai Street in downtown Songkhla town.

A neat row of fishing trawlers waiting for the tide to turn before setting out to sea.

Thaksin University offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes in education, sciences, arts, economics and business. Post Publishing's seminar in Songkhla on June 20-21, 1997 was organised by the Humanities Faculty of this prestigious school.
